The absolutely true diary of a part-time Indian: Chapter 1

The boy from the book, "The absolutely true diary of a part-time Indian" has a hard life with so many things against him. Right from the beginning of his life he suffered from a lot of different problems.  When he was only six months old he had to undergo a surgery, where there was a great chance of him not surviving.  He survived the surgery but had so many other physical problems including brain damage that he felt unlucky. Throughout his life he has not only had to deal with these issues but also had a hard time at school as the other children made fun of him.  But with all that being said he has found one thing that makes him happy: drawing cartoons.  It's good that he found something that he can do, putting all the problems and teasing aside and just draw.  Its nice to see that he still has hope for becoming someone and is not torn down by everything that he has gone through.
